AAAK is the first astronomical club in Iraqi Kurdistan,It's been initiated by a very active group of youths of various professions,journalism,geology,medicine,mathematic,chemistry etc...AAAK got the formal license from ministry of interior in 2005 after prolong struggle!
AAAK's activities restricted to Kurdistan region and Iraq ,It's been written in It's interior system that ,they are not going to open any brunch in other parts of Iraq,(At least in this time).
AAAK holds many activities , presenting seminars,preparing astronomical observations and star parties camps outside city,astrophotography,meteor observation,solar observations,as well as helping students of post graduate study.
AAAK has a lot of relationships with astronomy clubs outside Iraq especially with a lot of astronomers in Orange county astronomers, which is one of the largest astronomy clubs in United state,beside that AAAK became an affiliate of astronomers without borders which is an international astronomical organization for BUILDING BRIDGES THROUGH THE SKY.
now aday it became a well known scientific club in Kurdistan and they are about to issue the first astronomy magazine all over Iraq.
